West Africa

Two months after The Unity’s departure from Zeeland the ship arrived at its first destination: the west coast of Africa. The trading area of The Unity comprises (parts of) of current-day Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana. Here, the captain and his first mate were to trade their cargo goods as profitably as possible against enslaved Africans.
