We had a reefed topsail and also topgallant sail breeze from S to S by E in the morning and forenoon. Thick clouds drifted overhead. We cleaned on the ‘tweendecks and on the quarterdeck and we fumigated the decks with juniper and incense. At noon our estimated compound course and covered distance of the last 24 hours was W by S⅓S 17 miles, with an estimated north latitude of 1º48’, longitude 16º48’. We found ourselves to be at north latitude 1º47’. Later during the afternoon, evening and night we had a weak reefed topsail breeze from SSE to S by W. Sometimes it rained and thick clouds drifted overhead until the morning.
