In the morning it was quiet. At noon with the beginning of the high tide we raised anchor and drifted up and were towed for a bit. The sky was rainy. When The length of the watches was measured using an hourglass filled with sand. Each watch consisted of 8 half-hour glasses, marked by bells, 3 glasses in the afternoon had run out we passed the head plantation. At dawn we anchored at 5 1 fathom = 6 feet (170 cm) fathoms just below the Fort Nassau. We could not go on because the low tide was coming through. We fired 7 as greeting shots and were thanked with 7 by the fort. Later at night we had good weather. Around 12 o’clock at the beginning of the high tide we lifted anchor and drifted up and towed until just beyond the fort. When 2 glasses in the dog watches had run out we anchored at 7 fathoms of sticky ground. We found 3 ships anchored here, 2 ships and 1 snow ship. It stayed this way until the morning.
