Transactional account,

for the Honourable Sirs Directors of the Commercie Compagnie in Middelburg, Zeeland,

from her Honourable snow ship The Unity. Sold cargo goods at the coast of Guinea in Africa, traded for slaves, elephant tusks, scrivellors, gold, rice, etc. From this the necessary ship’s expenses were also paid along the same coast.

Nota bene. From the above noted 8 ounces 8 English gold was 1 ounce English lent to him on 3 April 1762given to master carpenter Paulus Christiaan Kempe when he was alive at the roadstead of ShamaGhanaFort St. Sebastian. He was charged 41 guilders per ounce and this was noted down in the ship’s wages book. From the gold now rest 7 ounces 6 English for the Lord directors.
