A slave passed away today, No.24. The wind was an average topgallant sail breeze in the morning and the weather was good. At dawn we raised anchor and set sail for WSW till we hit a depth of 4 feet. We then sailed alongside the shore to a depth of 3 feet, also 17 feet. We sailed for W by N. At noon we had a depth of 4 feet and gauged the river of Corentijn to the S by E from us. Later during the afternoon the wind came from ENE and we had a stormy sky with thunder. We kept a depth of 4 and 4½ feet. At dusk we anchored at 4½ feet of mud. Later at night the sky was clouded and we had a shower. It was also good weather until the morning.
