A female slave complained to me about pain in her belly. I gave her painkillers and rhubarb powder every other day, upon which she seemed to getting healthier. I followed up by giving her an absinth elixir of saffron, aloe and myrrh. Upon that, on the 18th, her diarrhea caused her to lose a considerable amount of maggots together with a worm – not thicker than a thread of yarn but surely three feet long. After that she complained about serious pain and started to faint.
