In the morning there was a NE gentle breeze. At dawn we raised anchor and set sail with the Clip to the ESE of us. The forenoon was quiet, but in the afternoon there was a SSW by SW by S gentle topgallant sail breeze. With 8 The length of the watches was measured using an hourglass filled with sand. Each watch consisted of 8 half-hour glasses, marked by bells.glasses we had  SehnkwehnLiberiaSanguin to the NE of us. In the dog watches there was a rainy sky. Towards the first watch we dropped anchor at 31  1 fathom = 6 feet (170 cm)fathoms of mud and sand ground. Throughout the day there were rain showers, with a gentle breeze till morning.
