Throughout the day the weather was good. 2 black carpenters came on board to caulk the ship on the outside. They immediately began caulking on the starboard side and we received a piece of wood for a cap on board. Our carpenter closed the hole in the forecastle where the slaves’ food cauldron had been. We cleaned and put resin on the foremast, bowsprits and fore topmast, then set the fore rigging and yard up loosely. During the night the weather was good, till morning.
