The wind was a gentle and average topgallant sail breeze from SE in the morning and forenoon. We had good weather, and we filled a barrel in the hold with salt water. At noon our estimated compound course and covered distance of the last 24 hours was W 23½ miles, with a south latitude as before, 0º52’, longitude 354º47′ and a found south latitude of 0º55′. We set sail for W. Later during the afternoon and dog watches the wind was a gentle and average topgallant and strong breeze from SE to S by W, with a squally sky and drizzling rain. During the first watch a gentle topgallant sail breeze came from SW. It was also quiet and rainy with drizzling rain. The wind from E was a gentle breeze during the middle watch. Thick clouds drifted overhead until the morning.
