In the morning and forenoon we had a gentle NW wind and mostly calm, clear weather. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty four hours was E ½ N 3 ½ miles, getting on the north latitude of 7º12’, longitude 3º4’ and an actual north latitude of 7º18’. During the afternoon and dog watches there was a calm, but in the first watch we had light airs from the SW. The middle watch had the same weather: also quiet but with thunder and lightning till morning.
