Marshall, Liberia

First mate’s logbook

In the morning we had a NE wind and good weather. At sunrise we saw the MarshallLiberiaJunk River to the NE of us. We fired a shot for the negroes and saw three ships at anchor: 2 English ships and a Danish ship. Throughout the day there were light WSW airs and an overcast sky. We started making the kitchen for preparing the food for the slavesslave galley at portside under the forecastle. We received canoes on board but failed to trade. Again good weather throughout the night.
