In the morning and forenoon the wind was a reefed but also topsail breeze from S by W to S. Clouds drifted overhead and we filled 2 barrels with salt water in the lowest layer. At noon our estimate compound course and covered distance of the last 24 hours was W½S 30 miles, with an estimated north latitude of 1º21’, longitude 1º22’. During the afternoon and dog watches we had a reefed topsail and also topgallant sail breeze from S by W, and the sky was clouded. An average topgallant sail breeze came during the first watch, but it was also calm. We had heavy, squally sky with a bit of drizzling rain. During the middle watch it was quiet with a clouded sky until the morning.
