In the morning there was a reefed topsail breeze coming from SW to WSW and drizzling rain. With the ending of the morning watch we had a heavy squall with a lot of wind directed to the NNW. We came about and steered SW by S with a hard reefed topsail breeze and good weather. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was WSW ½ S 7 ½ miles, which comes down to the estimated north latitude of 40°26′, longitude 2°39′. We found the actual north latitude to be 40°17′. We steered to the SW by S. In the afternoon and evening and during the night, the wind was a reefed topsail breeze coming from the NNW directed to the NNE. The sky was heavily clouded until the morning.
