In the morning and forenoon we had a decreasing stiff Sail of which the surface area has been reduced two times in order to make the surface area smaller.double reefed topsail breeze coming from the west to SW. The weather was good and the sea was high. We double To reduce the surface area exposed to the wind.reefed the main topsail. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was NE by E 28 miles, which comes down to the estimated 47°2′ north latitude and 355°33′ longitude. We found the actual latitude to be 47°20′ and steered towards the NE. During the afternoon and evening the wind was a double reefed topsail breeze coming from the SW to SW by S. At night we had a double reefed topsail breeze and mainsail breeze with stiff squalls and squally weather till morning.
