In the morning and forenoon the wind was double and stiff Sail of which the surface area has been reduced two times in order to make the surface area smaller.double reefed topsail breeze coming from between the NW by W and the WNW. The weather was rainy. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was NE by E 28 miles, which comes down to the estimated 42°44′ north latitude and 345°57′ longitude. We found the actual north latitude to be 42°46′. During the afternoon watch and the dog watch, there was a western double reefed topsail breeze and a dark, squally sky which remained till morning.
