At sunrise we measured the eastern corner of the island of Barbados to be E½N and the southern corner ESE at an estimated 8½ mile. Then during the afternoon the weather was quiet. At noon we measured the northern corner of the island of Barbados to be E by S at an estimated 9 to 10 miles. Also, our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was NNW⅓N 9 miles, getting on the estimated north latitude of 13º16′, longitude 316º57′, with a found north latitude of 13º13′. During the afternoon we squally skies with heavy showers. The wind was ESE and NE and again ESE. Then in the evening and at night the wind was a weak ESE and an average topgallant sail breeze. We had good weather till morning.
