In the morning and forenoon the weather was good. We cleaned the ‘tween decks and on the quarterdeck and fumigated it with juniper and incense. We let the slaves stroll and we raised anchor. Later throughout the day we filled the upper layer of the hold with salt water to take in more fresh water. Later during the evening and at night it was stormy with thunder, lightning and rain until the morning.
