In the morning and forenoon there was a gentle, topgallant sail and topsail breeze from NE by ESE and squally skies with rain. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was N½W 9 miles, getting on the estimated north latitude of 8º55’, longitude 319º51’. Then during the afternoon, evening and night the wind varied between NE by E. The weather was gentle with an average topgallant sail breeze and passing clouds till morning.
