At the beginning of the morning watch there was a gentle E breeze. In the forenoon the wind came from ESE and also ENE and SE with squally skies and a rainy sky. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was N 2/3E 6 ½ miles, getting on the estimated north latitude of 7º55′, longitude 319º47′. We were not able to estimate an actual north latitude. In the afternoon the weather was quiet. At the beginning of the dog watches we had a breeze from NE by NNE, an average topgallant sail breeze.
