Return

First mate’s logbook

In the morning and forenoon the wind came from the NW. There was quite a heavy storm. We steered towards the NE by E. At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was N by E 30 miles, which comes down to the estimated 46°11′ north latitude and 353°18′ longitude. We found the actual latitude to be 26°00. In the afternoon, evening, and night the wind was a stiff breeze coming from the WNW to west. There were heavy showers, again, we pumped water out of the ship. It remained like this until the next morning.
