First mate’s logbook

We had good weather in the morning. At dawn we received a vessel with 10 barrels of sugar on board marked shaped like diamondB/DD. At the start of the forenoon we received another vessel, this one with 18 whole and 6 half Unit of volume of 222 Middelburgse jugs. (1 jug = 1,25 liters)hogsheads of sugar on board marked ID, and also 7 small jam barrels, 6 of which were marked ID, 1 ID/X and a little chest marked ID. In the forenoon, at the start of the low tide, we sent out boat off board to the river of Essequibo RiverGuyanaEssequebo and our captain, according to his orders, and we stowed away the sugar. Good weather throughout the night till morning.
