We had a moderate NE topgallant sail breeze and good weather. We applied resin to the foremasts, bowsprit, the yards and the woodwork of the fore rigging. At noon our estimated compound course and covered distance of the last twenty-four hour was S by E 29½ mile miles, getting on the estimated north latitude of 17°57′ longitude 355°30′ with a found north latitude of 18°1′. We reset our compasses from 10°0′ to 6°0′ northwesterly. Throughout the afternoon, evening and night we had a NE to ENE wind varying between a gentle and moderate topgallant sail breeze with good weather till morning.
