In the morning and forenoon we had an average topgallant sail breeze from SE, and the weather was good. We cleaned on the ‘tween decks and on the quarterdeck and we fumigated it with incense and juniper. We filled 5 barrels in the hole with salt water. At noon our estimated compound course and covered distance of the last 24 hours was W by S 16½ miles, with an estimated south latitude of 0º32’ and a longitude of 359º53′ and we found the actual south latitude to be 0º29′. A gentle and average topgallant sail breeze came from ESE in the afternoon, evening and at night. The weather was good until the morning.
