We had a gentle NE breeze in the morning. At dawn we raised anchor and set sail in order to trade at Grand CessLiberiaGrand Sestros. We found out that the rope was damaged. At the start of the forenoon we dropped anchor at 27 1 fathom = 1.7 cubic metresfathoms of stiff ground, with the large tree to the N by E of us and Grand Sestros to the NE ½ N of us. We bought 2 slaves, a woman and a boy, No. 53 and 54, and also bought 2 tusks. The boat with water was received on board and we readied the boat for trade along the coast. At noon we had a gentle SW by S breeze. We sent the boat off board further along the coast. Throughout the evening and night we had a SW by S and S gentle breeze and good weather till morning.
