In the morning and forenoon, the wind from W to SSW was a gentle breeze and we had stormy skies. We saw a a type of sailing vessel with three or more masts having the foremasts rigged square and the aftermast rigged fore-and-aft. barque to the WSW of us. We sent the boat to fetch water, we cleaned up on the ‘tween decks and on the quarterdeck and we assembled a barrel. In the afternoon a gentle breeze came from SW and the weather was good. Our captain came on board and we were ready to leave. We had a gentle and average topgallant sail breeze from the SW in the evening and at night. The weather was good until the morning.
