In the morning there was a dead calm. We saw a ship during the day to the N of us which was situated beside us. There was a calm in the forenoon, at noon we estimated our north latitude and longitude like before but we could not get a north latitude. In the afternoon there were light SW airs and good weather. When 6 glasses in the dog watches had run out we hailed an English a sailing vessel with three or more masts; with a square rigged foremast and fore-and-aft rigged main, mizzen and any other mastsbarquentine which had come from Liverpool and was heading to the coast. Its captain was called Tomas Davidts. We had light NW airs and a stormy sky. There was lightning throughout the night, also good weather and light airs till morning.
