Throughout the morning and early afternoon we had a moderate topgallant sail wind and good weather. We applied resin to the outside of the ship above the top alleyway, and also to the outside of the boat. At noon our estimated compound course and covered distance of the last twenty-four hour was S by E 28½ miles, getting on the estimated north latitude of 16°9′, longitude 355°53′ we found north latitude to be 16°6′. We headed in a SSE direction. Throughout the afternoon, evening and night we had a NE gentle and moderate topgallant sail breeze and good weather till morning.
