We saw two ships to the N and NW. During the afternoon watch and the dog watch, we had a double reefed topsail WSW to SW breeze. When four glasses in the dog watches had run out, we came about NW. We saw four ships. During the first and the middle watch, there was a double reefed topsail breeze coming from the SW to W with hard rain squalls and wind. A ship coming from the S passed by. Towards the end of the middle watch we came about S. The situation remained like this until the morning.
