At noon our estimated compound course and sailed distance of the last twenty-four hours was SE by E 8 ½ miles, which comes down to the estimated north latitude of 47°44′, longitude 9°24′. In the afternoon, evening, and at night we had a stiff lower sail breeze coming from the SW and W by S. There were stiff rain showers and wind until morning.
